How old are you?
33

How long have been djing?
From bedroom dj to club dj 9 years.

What got you into djing?
My love of italian piano house music! from a very old club in Bradford called "Dukes and Silks", at this point i started collecting "the knights of the turntable" records to which I'm still collecting now!! Also, going to a club in Leeds called "Townhouse" which at that time played all the early hedkandi music which i absolute love and still do to this day.

How long have you been playing for Venus?
Nearly 1 year now, Djin at Venus is a dream come true and something I've always wanted to do. There is a lovely story behind how i got Djin for venus and to this day it still gets me emotional so, ask me when I'm drunk and i may tell you.

Who would you aspire to dj with?
Warren Clarke, I love his music! also, Mr Kenny Dope from Masters at work! Legend.

Who is your favourite dj and why?
I don't want to sound arsey here but, I don't really have a fav dj. I think as a dj you must create your own style and be original at all times. I do admire certain Dj's but, I would never try copy certain tricks, techniques or skill they may do in sets but, for me it's all about how the music is put together! not how good certain Dj's can scratch, loop, edit etc....

What advice would you give an aspiring dj?
Be confident and Practice for 1 to 2 hours every day. Make cd's of you sets and listen back to them and study where you went wrong and learn from them. Hand your cd's out to friends and ask for honest opinions! Find music you love and get to know it inside out from beat to beat. When handing cd's out to clubs and bars Don't get to upset if you get a knock back, Keep practicing and keep following the dream! The dream will always be there if you work hard enough! and when you do make it as a DJ always remember the people that supported you and the club that gave you the lucky break!

2010 has been a hectic year for the club and DJs, what has been your favourite night and why?
We have had some awesome nights and dj's on at Venus in 2010 and 2011 will be even bigger and better but, Venus classics nights are my favourites. I also enjoy the Hedkandi and love2be nights but, Before i was a resident Dj for Venus i always came to club V like most people and we always came on the classics nights, The music then still sounds just as good today.

If you could give 1 thing that makes you different from any other DJ what would it be?
Thats an awful question to ask because we are all fantastic!!! but, The one thing in my opinion that makes me different is: CDJ Tricks.

What does 2011 have in store for you?
To be playing for my residencies which are Venus and Tony Walkers night Love2be, I'll be playing in ibiza this year which I'm looking forward to! I'm also doing my own edits of classic tunes with my own little twists but, i don't plan on doing the production side of things because I'm also a field service engineer by day which keeps me sane from Djin. I just want to be playing the music i love for the nights i love, And giving the crowd a night to remember.
